Thoughts on Christian Blogging
I just had to comment on the current state of blogging in relation to Christianity. I realize everyone has their take on it and I am not saying anything new. However, everyone’s personal perspective is unique, so…
Anyway, I have worked in the technology industry for a long time. I have always tried to stay up on how technology interfaces with Christianity. As far as how long I have been involved in the tech industry, let’s just say I can remember a time when you couldn’t find a Christian community on the internet at all.
It seems that the blog world has really hit it with the Christian community. I realize it has done the same with pretty much every community, but the focus here is on the Christian community. The reason I even bring it up is because I have tried to read quite a few Christian blogs as of late and I am just blown away by number of them out there. So what is my personal take on it?
The good:
Virtually anyone can now publish their thoughts and ideas for the world to read and comment on.
The bad:
Virtually anyone can now publish their thoughts and ideas for the world to read and comment on.
The ugly:
Virtually anyone can now publish their thoughts and ideas for the world to read and comment on.
So basically, we are in the same state we have always been in…we must test everything with the Word of God (Sola Scriptura). What I like the most is that the access we have to our Christian brothers and sisters has been blown wide open. We can interact (read, comment on, & discuss issues) with our brothers and sisters like we have never been able to before, even if they are halfway around the world, almost instantly at that. If nothing else, blogging has broadened the application of Proverbs 27:17. May the Lord continue to help us advance the Kingdom of God through the use of technology.
